The IBM PureFlex System is a new category of computing that combines multiple server architectures, networking, chassis, storage, and system management capability into a single integrated system that is easy to deploy and manage.
The IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node Hands-on Labs is an intermediate lab that is designed to help individuals gain the required knowledge and skills necessary to manage and maintain the IBM Systems V7000 Storage Node subsystem at a basic level.
This lab explores the hardware configurations of the Flex System V7000 Storage Node through the Chassis Management Module (CMM) GUI. Implement the native control mechanisms of the Flex System V7000 (GUI and CLI) using various Flex System V7000 management tools. Execute minimum configuration steps to manage storage pools and volumes that are assigned to a compute node, map those volumes to host systems and review changes from the compute node interface. In addition, you will use the Flex System Manager (FSM) GUI to perform general administrative functions, deploy volumes, and implement VMControl operations.
Enrollment in this intermediate course is not restricted. However, typical students taking this course include technical IBM personnel from the FTSS, ATS, and Techline organizations as well as IBM Business Partner technical personnel involved with planning, installation, configuration, and upgrading of IBM PureFlex systems and the use of IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Nodes.
